June 2011 MA falls by -5.1%

In the most recent update of the MA measure of the money supply, June 2011 saw a contraction of over 5% compared to last year. There is little change in either MA, N&C or M4 compared to last month.

MA continues to contract in May 2011

In May 2011 MA fell by -5.9% (compared to the previous year), meaning that it has been contracting since October last year. The monetary deflation that has followed the financial crisis shows no signs of abating.

Kaleidic Economics will launch properly soon, however as of July 2011 we have started to release our economic indicators. The data section of the website presents a new measure of the money supply, MA, as well as information relating to money velocity, gross output, and shadow price inflation.
